FIRSTS

Hello!

First blog post here. Kind of thrilled. I got a new camera for graduation, so I decided to finally commit to a daily wear / ge
neral interest blog.

I just graduated from college, and d
ecided to treat myself with the monies my family decided to gift me. I had seen these shoes on Yoox a while ago and have been lusting ever since. So when they went on sale I couldn't resist. Up til now my wardrobe has managed to consist mostly of thrifted and discount clothing. In truth, I once bought a Marc by Marc Jacobs dress, but felt so guilty over the amount of money spent on one item that I had to get rid of it shortly after. However, these shoes will stay. I was a little upset when I first bought them. Somehow I had managed to miss the rounded square toe and they were a little tight across the ball of my foot. I threw caution to the wind, took them off my carpeted floors and into the wide world of concrete the other day. Now there is no going back, and I couldn't be happier with them. They are amazingly comfortable, and just weird-but-cute enough to suit my style.

So today was Father's Day. I went home to visit dear old dad, and this is what I wore:

(Urban Outfitters tank, American Apparel
Melange Jersey skirt, Chloe ballet flats)

I dress like a little girl all the time. It's something I'm beginning to deal with. I've realized that 22 year olds should probably begin to dress their age and not wear bows in their hair.

Here's a close up of the shoes:

The two different bows on the shoes threw me off for a bit, but I've decided such quirky bits are a more than welcome addition to my wardrobe. When my mother saw me, she asked if the shoes were from my aunt's closet and swore they must be from another era. Then she and my father just shook their heads at me, as per usual.
